Ballast was a 25-minute work created by Melbourne choreographer Anna Smith, with the creative contributions of the 2010 graduating company of dance students at the VCA.

The piece was performed for the first time at VCA Dancescape in June 2010, and was so well-received it was remounted for the end-of-year dance season in November 2010.
